About Eddy’s Mobile Welding & Fabrication
Ed moved to Canada in 1976 from the Netherlands as the son of an accomplished blacksmith specializing in hand forged wrought iron work. He would work for his dad on Saturdays in the shop drilling holes or helping with installing completed work . After graduating high school in 1987, Ed started working for his dad and learned a lot from him. In pursuit of bigger and better things Ed started work in the paint shop at a major Heavy Equipment manufacture in 1999 and soon learned he wanted to become a welder there. He put himself through school at night to get his welding certification while he worked during the day. After completing welder training he was offered a job as a welder.
After some years in the welding department Ed was offered a steel fabrication apprenticeship. In preparation for his steel fabricating he operated large sheers, iron workers and press brakes up to 650 tonne. A slow down in work caused him to move on to different shops where he received lots of experience in other fields of steel fabrication. He finished his apprenticeship in 2009 and currently holds an inter provincial Red Seal Diploma and is a CWB certified welding supervisor to CSA standard W47.1-09: Symbols/Weld Faults/QC& inspection Methods/Welding Procedure Data Sheets and W59-13:Welded steel construction.
